Tension Bolts

Tension bolts according to DIN 2510 and custom-made products directly from the manufacturer

We supply DIN 2510 tension bolts in common sizes – e.g., M12 tension bolts – as well as in special dimensions and with special materials for extreme conditions. In addition to the standard version, we also offer the option of manufacturing tension bolts according to customer specifications or drawings, including technical consultation and certificates.

Heavy-duty connection for extreme demands.

Tension bolts – also known as tension shank bolts – are special fasteners designed for use under extreme mechanical and thermal loads. They are based on the principle of elastic deformation of the bolt, which ensures a uniform and permanent preload in the connection. At ASO Schrauben, you can obtain DIN 2510 tension bolts in various dimensions or custom-made to drawing.

Materials & Surfaces for the Highest Demands of Tension Bolts

The selection of the correct material is crucial for the performance and service life of a tension bolt. Depending on the application, different metallic materials are used. Our tension bolts are available in various materials and coatings:

Steel plain / galvanized – cost-efficient & proven

Stainless steel A2 (V2A) / A4 (V4A) – for particularly humid, salty or aggressive environments

Black tension bolts – electro-galvanized, blued, or phosphated

Special materials – e.g. heat-resistant steels or duplex steels

You can find an overview of all available materials on our separate material page

Specialist for special fasteners in pressure equipment construction

We offer you reliability in safety-critical applications.

A particular focus of ASO Schrauben is, among other things, the production of special fasteners for pressure equipment. Our connecting elements are used wherever maximum safety, material quality and manufacturing precision are required – for example in pressure vessels, flange connections, heat exchangers, valves or steam systems, in turbine construction and in classic mechanical engineering.

Thanks to many years of experience and modern manufacturing technologies, we produce screws according to drawings or special standard specifications – even from a quantity of 1!

Our production meets the strict requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU) and relevant regulations such as AD 2000-Merkblatt W0. The corresponding certificates (e.g. 3.1 / 3.2 according to EN 10204) document the quality and traceability of our products – a clear added value for safety-critical applications.

Advantages of a Tension Bolt from ASO Schrauben

Good to know: Tension Bolts in Detail

A tension bolt is designed to deform elastically in the tension shank area during assembly. This controlled elongation effect ensures a defined preload that is maintained even with temperature changes or dynamic loads. Through the targeted elongation of the bolt, the tightening torque is transmitted particularly uniformly, which significantly increases operational safety.

The tightening torque of bolts plays a crucial role here: The correct preload is only achieved through the precisely applied tightening torque, which must be strictly adhered to for tension bolts. Only in this way is the desired elastic deformation in the bolt shank achieved.

The decisive advantage: Tension bolts can maintain constant preload even during high load peaks and over many load cycles. This is precisely why they are frequently used in safety-critical areas.

We manufacture everything for you - whether according to European or international standard!

Our special fasteners are used where standard solutions are not suitable – for example, with high pressure, extreme temperatures, or aggressive media. Special fasteners made from special TÜV-certified raw material are often the only solution in the industry to reliably implement complex, safety-relevant applications.

At ASO Schrauben, the perfect connection is our focus – not only technically, but also in cooperation with our customers. With individual solutions and high quality, we support your projects precisely.

Areas of Application for Our Tension Bolts and Their Advantages

The typical use of tension bolts is found wherever bolted connections are subject to high thermal or dynamic loads – for example, in engine construction, in turbines, in pump system construction, or for cylinder head connections and in power plant overhauls.

Your advantages:

Our other types of fasteners

Special fasteners and custom screws can be manufactured in various designs and functional types. Our standard screw types include threaded rods and stud bolts, which are frequently used in pressure equipment or flange connections. Other variants include hexagon head screws, socket head cap screws, eye bolts, or special screws with specific thread forms. The combination of different head shapes, thread types, and materials results in highly specialized fasteners that are precisely tailored to your requirements.
